On a beautiful Randall’s Island Saturday, the men did as much as they could to prove all their detractors right, casting a complete stinker in a 45-21 loss to the previously winlessVillage Lions. The squad showed no offensive rhythm whatsoever and was unable to make any adjustments to its offensive play to counter the Lions’ blitz defense (in part because every kick placed onto the opposition was countered by a 60 meter counterattack marred by horrendous Monmouth tackling). The road trip started with a bang, the squad now travels to White Plains for a must-win against an opponent who also suffered its first loss of the season.
