Frank Fischer
Some people are synonymous with organizations, in sports we have Vince Lombardi and the Packers, in magazines we have Oliver Wendell Holmes and the Atlantic, and in business, we have McDonalds and Ronald McDonald. With Monmouth Rugby over the past few decades, the same can be said about Frank Fischer.
Franks rugby career began at Georgetown University in the 1970’s, when hair was long, a try was worth three points, and “injury time” just meant you left your mates a man down. He quickly became captain and president of the GU club and in coming to Monmouth brought his rugby vigor to MRFC right around the time Brookdale was learning that the Brookdale Rugby Club didn’t actually have many Brookdale students on its roster. Frank stepped in and has acted as the clubs president, social chair, club lawyer, advisor, treasurer, and Gentleman’s Night moderator. No one who has worn Monmouth Rugby colors or enjoyed anything more than a drop of beer at the Wilde Rover, over the past thirty years, could discount Franks affect on the club. On top of being one of our most important and trusted advisors, he has always been our biggest fan, as well. If you haven’t yet met Frank, and he hasn’t helped you out of some jam, then something is amiss.
