Ann Barford

Ann was a 2007 inductee into the Monmouth Rugby Hall of Fame, preceding her husband by four years. Although Ann and Paule both live in the Atlanta area, they were both instrumental to the development and success of the club during the early eighties. The eighties were a time of transition for the Monmouth Rugby Club, one from it’s founders to what we can call our first generation of the now. All the Renegades owe not only to her dedication on the pitch, but that of her spirit.

Ann remains the most prolific scorer in Renegades history, which lasted from 1982 until 1993. Her prowess on the field had earned her a spot on the USA East squad, from 1981 to 1993, and her play there, as well, as with Monmouth, earned her a spot as a USA Eagle, where she participated from 1990 to 1993.

After a few years without rugby, Ann took up NaGael Gaelic football for a few years and played Australian rules for the Lady Kangaroos from 2002 to 2004. Ann currently lives outside Atlanta, with her husband Paule and their children, where she works as an IT director.
