Dates: Wednesday March 2nd through Tuesday March 8th (If you are interested but want a shorter trip please see notes on “mini-tour” below)
Where: Barbados, West Indies. We will be staying at the Dover Beach Hotel (http://www.doverbeach.com/) right on the beach and within walking distance to the St Lawrence Gap a popular nightlife destination. The rooms are double occupancy and you will have the choice of two twin beds or one queen size bed.
Cost: I expect the cost to be under $1,200 USD. (At this point it looks as if it may come in close to $1,000). This will include airfare, hotel room, kit, and tour dinner on Monday night. (Costs in Barbados seem fairly reasonable. At the moment the exchange rate is 2:1 in our favor. A beer seems to cost about $3 at a local bar).
Rugby: We have two “social” matches scheduled. One on Thursday March 3rd at 7:00pm under the lights and one on Saturday March 5th at 1:00 pm. The second match may very well be played in the midst of the most popular horse race in Barbados.
“Mini-Tour:” To accommodate some of the folks who want to be on tour but can’t take all the time off of work, if there is enough interest I will arrange a shorter tour. Thursday March 3rd through Sunday March 6th. The cost should be similar to the full tour as hotel will be a little less but airfare a little more without the group discount.
What I need: If you name does not appear on the list below and you want to go on tour please let me know ASAP. I need to know if you are playing and if you are interested in the full tour or the mini-tour.
Payment Schedule: In order to go on tour I will need $500 per person no later than July 1st so I may place deposits on airfare and the hotel rooms. I will need $500 by January 1st. The balance will be due prior to departing. Note if you want to go I must have $500 by July 1st – no I OWE YOU’s.
